EVEN STEVEN
Thursday, June 26th was the first meeting of the year between the two Mitchell Pee Wee teams.  The back and forth affair could not have ended any better with the score being tied 13 to 13.

The batting and pitching were solid throughout the game with a few defensive miscues that helped add a little excitement to the game.

Mitchell #2 led off the game with the first three batters, Ryan HARMER, Eric GETTLER, and Callum McMANN, all scoring.  Mitchell #1 replied, in their half of the first inning, with their first three batters, Curtis EIDT, Jackson McARTHUR, and Jake MONDEN, all scoring.  Singled runs were scored by both teams in the second inning with Devin FENWICK and Jake WALKER each crossing the plate for their teams.

Mitchell #2 took the lead in the third inning with GETTLER, McMANN and Kyle RICHARDSON scoring.  Mitchell #1 could only reply with two runs as Reid RAMSEYER led off the inning with a huge homerun and Damon KAY also scored.

In the fourth, Mitchell #2 got FENWICK to cross the plate again.  Mitchell #1 rallied for a big inning batting through the order and getting 6 runs.  RAMSEYER had another long double.  Mitchell #2 would not be outdone and replied with five runs of their own with Tristan BEEHLER knocking in two runs to give his team a 13-12 lead.

Mitchell #1 was able to score the equalizer in their final at bat to leave the game tied.

In other league action, Mitchell #1 travelled to Lieury and, with the assistance of Ben SMALL and Stevie DAUM from the other Mitchell team, came away with a big win.  RAMSEYER had an over-powering pitching performance and led his team to a 9 to 4 three inning lead and picked up six strikeouts.  MacARTHUR pitched a scoreless fourth inning and got two strikeouts while KAY finished up on the mound and got one strikeout in the 14 to 9 win.

Mitchell was solid offensively scoring runs in every inning but the last one.  MacARTHUR, MONDEN, SMALL AND Tyson McINTOSH all scored two runs.  WALKER reached base all three times up to the plate and had a long RBI double.
