Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies ousted from OBA Tournament after back-to-back losses
The Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies season came to an end after consecutive losses at the OBA tournament on Saturday, narrowly losing 6-5 to Listowel and dropping a 10-8 decision to Essex.
The locals fell behind early vs Listowel, and a 3-run rally in the bottom of the 7th was too little to late to turn the tide.
With their backs against the wall having suffered their first loss, the boys came out swinging hard vs Essex in the next game, putting 6 runs on the board in the top of the first. Unfortunately Essex came out swinging just as hard in the bottom half, answering back with 7 runs of their own. The teams were tied 8-8 going into the bottom of the 6th, and Essex scored two runs to pull ahead for good and close out the win, moving on to the next round in the tournament.
