The Mitchell Astros Your Credit Union Major Rookie Tier 2 Team 1 fell just two runs short in a close battle in Clinton Thursday evening. The game was close the entire night with the home team taking a 16-14 decision.
The entire team hit well with Blake Redfern leading the offence with five hits. Four hit performances were put in by Josie Walker, Keegan Priestap, Charlie Geiger, Carter O'Brien and Brooklyn Boville. Others pitching in with three hits included Callum Harris and Max Vandervelde while Jacob Bice reached base twice.
The team also played a great game defensively with Geiger, Redfern, Priestap, Walker, Harris and Lincoln Lorentz making strong plays in the field.
