Tier 2 Team 1 Major Rookies Suffer Back to Back Losses
The Your Credit Union Major Rookie Tier 2 Team 1 fell to Exeter and Goderich this week when they hit the road for two away games.
The Astros faced many difficult bounces while in the field in a 26-14 loss against Exeter on Monday night. Despite their struggles in the field, Keegan Priestap, Hayden Nicholson and Brennan Ward would make smart plays on the bases to record outs. Offensively, Nicholson, Ward and Blake Redfern would all contribute doubles. Other players crossing the plate to score were Josie Walker, Priestap, Carter O'Brien, Max Vandervelde and Lincoln Lorentz.
On Thursday night the Astros faced a hard hitting Goderich team and suffered a loss of 27-12. Despite getting off to a great start with the bats in the first two innings and taking the lead 7-2, Goderich would find their bats and not look back as they pounded home multiple runs in each of the remaining innings.
The players will look to bounce back next week with a win or two as they face Parkhill on the road and St. Mary's at home.
