Strong Opponents Hand Walter's IDA Two Road Loses
Walther's IDA Tier 2 team took to the road last week for two games and came home winless. On Tuesday July 21, the Astros travelled to North Middlesex to play the Parkhill team. Parkhill proved a tough opponent and handed Mitchell a 15-7 loss. The next night the Astros were back on the road to Goderich to play the top placed team. The visiting Astros were leading after two innings, however the wheels fell off, and the Seahawks pulled out the 21-12 victory.
Against Parkhill, Brandon Dietrich had two hits including a double, and scored two runs. Darius Ladd and Joel Meinen both had two hits and scored a run a piece.
In Goderich, Brandon Dietrich continued his hot streak registering 4 hits, two being doubles, and scored 4 runs. Joel Meinen also had 4 hits. Payton Wood had a good night at the dish recording 3 hits, and had one taken away from him in the first inning on an excellent defensive play by the Seahawk's second baseman. Tyler Scherbarth had three hits and scored 3 runs. On the defensive side, Meinen and Dietrich made several outs in the first couple of innings.
