Game 5
Mitchell Major Rookie Team Blue was back in Mitchell on Sunday, June 5th to take on Mitchell Team Red.  Both teams played extremely well at bat and in the field with Team Blue narrowly taking the win 20 - 16.

The offense was once again lead by Keegan Priestap with two doubles and Jose Walker with one of her own.  Reaching base at every at bat was Logan Verberne and Olen Hopf.

Mitchell Red would take a 3 - 0 lead in the first inning with the only outs coming from Keegan Priestap and Logan Verberne each catching a hard line drive.

Mitchell Red would add to their lead in the second inning with an additional 4 runs making the game 7-0.  Mitchell Blue would record their three outs via strikes.

In the third inning Mitchell bats would come alive putting up 5 runs and holding Team Red to none.  Keegan Priestap would field a ground ball to Jose Walker at first for the 1st out.  Jose Walker would then field a ground ball to her waiting at 1st for the second out.  Keegan Priestap would field a ground ball and tag the runner to end the inning.

The forth inning would see Blue but up another 4 runs to Reds 2 Runs tying the game up at 9-9.  Mitchell's only defensive play would come from Brooklyn Bovile fielding a grounder to Jonah Gibbings at first Base.  The other two outs would come via strikes.

Both Teams would cash in 4 runs a piece in the fifth inning to keep the score tied at 13 each.  

In the sixth inning Team Blue would take the lead by adding another 4 runs making the score 17 - 13.  Keegan Priestap would catch a pop fly for the only defensive out of the inning.

With time left, Mitchell played a 7th inning where Red would keep it close by adding 3 more runs to finish with 16 and Team Blue would add 3 more to finish with 20.  Jonah Gibbings would field a ground ball at first for the second out and Griffin Bree would field the other to Jonah Gibbings for the third and final out of the game.
