Game 14
Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Blue Tier 2 Major Rookies welcomed St. Mary's to Diamond "C" for a home match-up at the Mitchell Community Center.  Mitchell's strong batting and defense was just overwhelming for this St. Mary's team on a hot and humid summer evening with temperatures reaching 25C but feeling like 29C.

Mitchell's strong offense came in the form of doubles from Olen Hopf, Jose Walker, Matthew Menehere, Keegan Priestap, Griffin Bree, Ryan Klumper and Calum Harris.  Reaching base at each at bat was Brooklyn Boville and Jackson Kaufman.

The first inning would see St. Mary's fall to Mitchell's strong defense with only three batter's managing to reach base and none would cross the plate.  Keegan Priestap would record two outs at first base, the first a line drive followed by a pop-out fly ball.  The other out would come via strike out.  Mitchell would go on to record seven runs in the first inning to make it a 7 - 0 game.

The second inning would be St. Mary's second strongest offensive outing recording two runs.  This inning would be taken over defensively by Brooklyn Boville at the pitcher's position.  Here she would record all three outs to the strong glove hand of Matthew Menehere at first base.  Mitchell would put up another three runs to take the lead 9 to 2.

Again in the third inning Mitchell's defense would be too much for St. Mary's as they would fail to record a run and see only two batters reach base.  The first out would come from first basemen Logan Verberne fielding a line drive.  The second out would see short stop Griffin Bree connect with Wade Campbell on second and Calum Harris as catcher would pick up a bunt at home plate to tag out the batter.  This inning would see Mitchell take a commanding lead of 16 - 2.

In the forth inning St. Mary's would manage to bring in one batter from the six at bats.  This time one batter would fall on strike outs and then Drew Kemp at Pitcher would make two spectacular gloves on ground balls to record the outs with Keegan Preistap at first.  Mitchell would put up another 7 runs and dominate with a 23 - 3 lead.

The fifth inning would not fair well for St. Mary's as they would go out on four batters.  Second Baseman Wade Campbell would field the hit at second base to catch the runner at first by a sharp Matthew Menehere.  Next, Ryan Klumper in center field would connect with Wade Campbell at second for the second out.  Last out would come from Calum Harris on third to Logan Verberne covering second base.  Mitchell would add an additional six runs to pad the lead 29 -3.

In the sixth and final inning St. Mary's would repeat their strongest offensive inning by putting up two runs on seven batters.  Ryan Klumper at first would pick up a ground ball to record the initial out.  Olen Hopf at third would repeat a ground ball to get the out on a forced play.  Last out of the game would come from Calum Harris tagging out the runner heading to third.  Mitchell's final at bat would see them put up another five runs to finish the game 34 - 5.
