Larry Hudson Pee Wee OBA team make it to Finals in Kincardine
The Larry Hudson Pee Wee OBA team won a thrilling Semi-Final to reach the final of the Harold Maurer KMBA tournament this past weekend, but they couldn't sustain the same energy and dropped an 11-2 decision to Listowel in the Championship contest.

After posting a 2-1 record the Astros reached the semi finals and took on Annette, a Toronto-area team they lost to 7-5 the night before.  Down 7-3 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, Mitchell began a late rally when Josh Eidt reached on an error, a walk to Evan Morrison, a single by Wyatt Huitema then Charlie Wood reached on an error.  With one out, PJ Marshall singled to put the tying run on third after Marshall stole second, pinch hitter Will Steinbach drew an intentional walk to load the bases.  Coulter Rolph then hit a shallow fly ball to centre field but unfortunately was caught by the centrefielder to bring up Tanner Dietz at the top of the order, who hit a ground ball to the shortstop but speed demon Steinbach got a great jump and went head first into second base to beat the throw as Charlie Wood crossed the plate to tie the game.  Eidt then followed the same modus operundi, hitting a ball to shortstop by this time Dietz beat the throw to drive Marshall home to win the game, 8-7.  Eidt pitched the first fourt innings with Wood earning the win with one inning of relief.

Friday's game against Saugeen Shores to open the tournament, Dietz came on in relief just five batters into the game and went 2 for 2 with two walks in a 15-3 win.  Steinbach had a three-run single in the sixth, while Marshall also had two hits.  Saturday morning against their hosts, game MVP Huitema had three hits and Evan MacArthur and Dietz both had two in an 11-2 win.  Eidt pitched the first three innings while Morrison pitched the next three but Wood recorded the final out with one pitch.  Defensively Bradley Boville and Steinbach made nice catches.

On Saturday against Annette, Morrison tripled and doubled while Dietz had two hits in a 7-5 loss.  MVP Wood was solid on the mound and went 1 for 2 with a walk.  In the final against league rival Listowel, the squad was flat after their emotional semi final, losing 11-2.  Eidt tripled, singled and walked while MacArthur had two hits.  Some great outfield catches were recorded by outfielders Dietz, Rolph, Marshall, Eidt and Brett Poirier.
