Wolfe Flooring Major Rookie OBA's Season Off To a Great Start
The Wolfe Flooring Mitchell Major Rookie OBA team had a great start to their season, taking three out of their first four games in regular league action.

Their first game of the year was Wednesday, May 16thth as the Mitchell OBA’s battled with the Exeter Express using the home field advantage to secure a solid 14 to 6 win in their opening game of the season.

Friday, May 27th the Wolfe Flooring OBA’s travelled to St. Marys to play their first game on the road. In an exciting game offensively both teams had several 7 run innings, and Mitchell turned several double plays on the infield that gave their fans much to cheer about. However, St. Marys pulled ahead of Mitchell 16-13 in the bottom of the seventh inning, resulting in the first loss of the season for the team.

Saturday May 28th, the Wolfe Flooring OBA’s made the trek to Kincardine for a double header against the Cardinals.

Game one of the double header saw Mitchell falling behind the batting machine in the first inning, however, by the second inning the team found the batting connection they needed, with several of Mitchell’s batters hitting the ball deep into the outfield.  Despite outstanding offence by the Cardinals on the infield, the Mitchell OBA’s succeeded in outscoring Kincardine 16-13 for the first win of the day.

Game two of the double header proved to be a continuous battle back and forth of runs between the Cardinals and the OBA’s that left both teams challenging the other in their search for the second win of the day.  The Wolfe Flooring OBA’s took their game to the next level offensively by making outstanding catches, and plays on the infield and defensively pounding the ball into all corners of the on the field, that in the final inning saw Mitchell score the go-ahead run to pull ahead of the Cardinals by one, in a thrilling 13-12 win for the team.

Congratulations on a great start to the season boys!!
