Late Mosquito Rally vs Listowel Falls Short
The Feeney Design Build Mosquito Astros hosted Listowel Legionnaires #3 on June 27th, dropping a close 12-10 decision to the visitors.  The locals rallied in the bottom of the last inning as Kellen Russwurm led off with a triple, and was driven in on an RBI base hit by Jordan Visneskie.  Josh French would single and Blake Redfern would walk to load the bases, but the Listowel pitcher would bear down and strike out the side to end the threat.

Things did not look good for the home side at the start, as Listowel built a 9-0 lead after 3 1/2 innings.  But the Astros would battle back in the bottom of the fourth, plating the maximum six runs to draw within two.  Lincoln Lorentz drew a walk to open the inning, followed by a Brennan Ward single and a walk by Russwurm to load the bases.  Visneskie delivered a grand slam home run to score four, and French and Redfern would also score in the inning.  Mitchell's offense was spread around pretty evenly, as 9 of 12 batters each scored at least one run.
Starter Ward went the max pitch count, and was relieved by Nolan Vessie.  Redfern finished up with a three-up-three down top of the sixth to set the stage for the comeback attempt that fell just short.
