Harris 21, Wolfe 20: Epic Slugfest Ends in a Harris Victory
The bats were mighty tonight in the battle of the Astros as Team Harris handed Team Wolfe their first loss of the season. In this epic slugfest, each Mitchell player had at least one hit off the machine for the first time this season as they maxed out runs every inning. A great game was played by everyone on both teams!

Although our offence tonight was exceptional, let's not forget how great our defence was. Reegan Vessie made an amazing grab at 1st base to end the 2nd inning for Team Wolfe at 6 runs, which ended up being the difference in the game. Also in that 2nd inning, Lincoln Laverty made a stellar play to retire a runner at 3rd base and
Kayla Visneskie showed that she's not just a great hitter, getting another crucial out at 2nd base.

Now... can we talk about those hitters for a moment?!?! Elyn Hannon lead us off with a solid single down the third base line, the first of two opposite-field machine hits for her in the game. Seth Brown and Lincoln Vandervelde are both continuing to excel with both hitting off the machine and coming in to score at each at-bat. Thomas Schoonderwoerd and Carson Lubbers, batting right at the heart of the Harris order, came up with big extra-base hits, showing off their power.

Max Brodhagen, doing double-duty tonight, having just played a soccer game, still gave it 110% and contributed two hits and two runs. Carter Harris made solid contact with the ball, smashing a big single in the 3rd. Keith Linton and Sean Gibbings not only hit well, they always seemed to be in the right place at the right time in the field, backing up plays.

A reminder that practice on Thursday is cancelled (hope to see everyone at the Fun Fair). The next practice is Monday, June 19th, and our next game is Saturday, June 24th, in Clinton at 6:30pm.

Amazing job, team! GO TEAM HARRIS!
