D.L. Hannon Minor Mosquitos Split a Pair in Season Openers
The D.L Hannon Minor Mosquito opened up their season with a strong 16-3 outing against the Exeter Minor Express team on Monday, May 14th.  First time starting Pitcher Jonah Gibbings and Max Hannon each struck out 6 batters, while closer Zack Siemon-Hergott helped to hold the Exeter team to only 3 runs.  Braden Pennings hit a two run double, while Charlie Wolfe smoked a bases loaded, three run triple in the win.

On Friday, May 18th late game rally wasn’t enough as the Minor Mosquito’s fell 20-7 against the Goderich Seahawks OBA.  Strong pitching efforts coming from starter Logan Verberne striking out two, while reliever Elijah Bender had a good third inning, and Ryan Klumper closed out the bottom half of the fourth with five runs scored.  Several walks in the top of the fifth inning scored for Mitchell, with runs batted in by Landon VanBakel and Charlie Wolfe, while Evan Pennings took a chance and stole home, but it wasn’t enough to come back for the win.  The team will be looking to use the home field advantage when they host Mount Forest in OBA action on May 23rd.
