Minor Mosquitos Record First OBA win
The D.L Hannon Minor Mosquito OBA team came away with an impressive 20-11 win against Goderich on June 201th when the Seahawks and Astros met for the second time this season on Mitchell's home turf.
Starter Ryan Klumper went 2 and a half innings allowing one run in the second. In the bottom half of the first, Mitchell crossed the plate 9 times and didn't look back the rest of the game. A perfectly placed bunt from Jonah Gibbings advanced the leadoff runner to third, in the second inning, which allowed an RBI from Braden Hoegy to score. Charlie Wolfe belted a two run triple in the 5 run third inning, pulling the Astros ahead of the Seahawks 15-1. Goderich rallied with 3 runs in the top of the fourth, but Braden Pennings and Ethan Jarmuth answered by driving in two runs each. Strong defence from the entire team in the field prevented Goderich from crossing the plate and Max Hannon doubled to add the lone run for Astro's in the final inning of Mitchell's first win in OBA action.
