Major Mosquito OBA Earn First ICBL Win
The Mitchell Stickhandler Major Mosquito OBA Astros evened their Inter-County Baseball League record at 1-1 following a 15-10 victory at the Kitchener Panthers on May 20th.

The locals got on the board right away in the open inning as Dawson White's RBI double scored Carson Harmer, who had walked, stole second, and advanced on a wild pitch.  White would also score later in the inning on a base hit from Cody Bach to take a 2-0 lead.  The Panthers would answer back in the bottom half with three runs off of starter Dominic Marshall to pull ahead.  The Astros put their well-balanced attack on display by scoring every inning, with a 4-run fifth inning paced by Visneskie's 2-run double, and a 4-run sixth inning with the big blow coming from Kellen Russwurm's bases-loaded triple as insurance for a one-run lead.
Russwurm finished the night with two triples and 6 RBI's, and extra-base hits were also recorded by Marshall and Ryan Hubbard.  Harmer and White would each score four runs, with Russwurm crossing the plate three times.  The Astro runners were a threat on the base paths all night, stealing a total of nine bases including two each by Harmer and Ben Medhurst.
Marshall gave up two hits in the opening two frames, Harmer and Joel Meinen worked in middle relief, and Visneskie struck out the side in the last inning for the save.
Next action for the locals is an exhibition game with the Ingersoll Ironbirds on the road on May 23rd, looking to sweep the home-and-home arrangement after an earlier 16-8 victory at home on May 17th.
