On Thursday May 17th, The Stratford RV Minor Rookies travelled to the Lake Town of Goderich to play their 2nd game of the Season.
With the breeze in their hair, the Rookies enjoyed playing at Goderich public Schools Diamond, with the previous years Race ways diamonds under construction. The team arrived for a 6:30 start to play Goderich Grey Minor Rookies. With the visiting Mitchell Rookies up to bat, 1st on base would be Phoebe Wood, who would hit to the grass as the starting batter of the night. Even with a bit of adjustments, the team would repeatedly make their way to home, with a unique catapult type of pitching machine being used, that they had not been used to before. One of several stellar hits to mention of the night, was a full fledge power-double from Alise Crawford, hitting it well into the outfield.
In the field, the youngsters would keep the Goderich home team working, with Mitchell doing their best to limit the runs scored for Goderich to a minimum.
Mitchell would continue batting an fielding through out the game, to come to an eventual 1st victory of the Season, with a score of 18-16 leaving the Goderich Diamond.
