Minor Mosquito WOBA Champs
The D.L. Hannon Minor Mosquitos had a fantastic WOBA year end tournament, going undefeated throughout round robin play and capturing the title in a one-sided game against Clinton Minor on August 12th. In the first game of the tournament Mitchell faced Clinton minor and would start out strong with Ryan Klumper posting a triple that would score Ethan Jarmuth and Logan Verberne.  Later in the inning Jarmuth would hit a grand slam home run that would score the 6th and final run of the inning.  Brayden Pennings would start on the mound for the Astros striking out 2 of the 5 batters faced that inning.  Mitchell would add 6 more runs in the top of the second inning and would hold Clinton to 2 runs as the boys looked sharp defensively in the bottom of the 2nd inning.

Logan Verberne would start off the top of the 3rd inning with a triple posting an RBI on the play as Jarmuth would come in to score.  The Astros continued to dominate offensively through the inning with Evan Janssen stealing home to score the 6th and final run of the inning.  Janssen would relieve Pennings midway through the bottom of the 3rd inning as Mitchell would allow no runs.

Elijah Bender would step up to the plate with Olen Hopf waiting on third and deliver a two-run home run, these would be two of the 5 runs Mitchell would score this inning.  Mitchell would allow only two runs in the bottom of the 4th as Janssen struck out 2 and Bender at short stop made a great play to Zack Siemon-Hergot at 1st for the final out of the inning.

Mitchell would end the game with a final score of 23-4.

In their second game the Astros faced the Grand Bend Lakers.  Max Hannon would start out pitching striking out 2 of the 5 batters he faced and Mitchell allowing the Lakers only 1 run.

Bottom of the first Mitchell went to work scoring 6 runs to take the lead.  But the Lakers would answer back in the top of the 2nd as Mitchell struggled defensively giving up 6 runs as the Lakers took the lead 7-6.

Bottom of the 2nd Mitchell would start to turn things around as Ethan Jarmuth would start the inning off with a home run.  Later in the inning Braden Hoegy at the plate with loaded bases would hit a triple that would bring in Charlie Wolfe, Elijah Bender and Olen Hopf to score.  Evan Janssen would score the final run of the inning on an RBI single from Landon VanBakel.

Olen Hopf would relieve Hannon on the mound in the top of the 3rd as Mitchell held the Lakers to 1 run with some good defensive play.

Mitchell would build on their lead in the bottom of the 3rd as Zack Siemon-Hergot started off the Astros with a home run.  Later in the inning Ethan Jarmuth would hit a 3 run home run bringing in Ryan Klumper and Logan Verberne.  Mitchell would finish the inning with 6 runs.

Ryan Klumper would take over for Wolfe on the mound and went to work quickly, striking out 2 of the 4 batters he faced, and Mitchell would again deny runs to Clinton in this inning.

With a comfortable lead heading into the bottom of the 4th Mitchell would not take another at bat, ending the game with a final score of 18-0.
