Mosquitos Notch Win in Weather-Shortened Game
Leading 9-1 at the time in Waterloo, the Mitchell Stickhandler Major Mosquito Astros were awarded the win over the host Tigers when the game was called in the bottom of the fourth inning due to lightning.

The locals jumped out to quick 5-0 lead in the opening inning as leadoff batter Carson Harmer beat out an infield hit, eventually scoring on a wild pitch.  Jack Miller and Charlie Geiger each stroked RBI extra base hits in the inning.
Starter Ben Medhurst cruised through his two opening innings of work, giving up zero hits with two strikeouts.  Dawson White would relieve for 1 1/3 innings, finishing up until the game was called.
After going quiet in the second inning, White was aboard on a one-out single, followed by a Kellen Russwurm two-run home run lined into the right field corner.  Miller would add another double to continue his hot hitting.  Harmer would drive in the final two runs in the top of the 4th, plating Medhurst and Joel Meinen.
The Astros will compete in the annual Mitchell Mosquito/Peewee Tournament this coming weekend, entering as defending champions and facing the Walkerton-Hanover OBA team tonight at 6:30pm on Diamond 'C'.
