Astros Fall Short to Tillsonburg
D.L Hannon Mitchell Astros had a
road trip to Tillsonburg to face them for the first time this year on June 27th.
The Tillsonburg Otters are part of the London OBA loop and saw some solid pitching efforts throughout the game by the Astros coming from Jonah Gibbings, Brayden Hoegy, Carson Brown & Charlie Wolfe. Mitchell's defense was ready for Tillsonburg as the home team was on their bats right away, working hard at our outfielders. Solid key catches were made by Ryan Klumper, Max Hannon and Charlie Wolfe, that resulted in quick turn in's to the infield, and the Astros were able to keep the Otters at bay. At the plate, the Astros were held scoreless by the Otters defense, but the Astros were finally able to break through their tight defence when Owen Beauerman started off with a single followed by Logan Verberne hitting a triple that turned into a homerun, as Tillsonburg made an error with an overthrow at third, cashing in the Astros only two runs of the game. Despite the great fielding efforts, the Mitchell Astros ended up with a loss of 8-2.
