Peewee OBA Falls In Season Opener
The Mitchell Stratford RV Peewee OBA Astros opened their 2019 ICBA season on the road on May 17th, dropping a 13-8 decision to the host Cambridge Cubs.
The Astros opened the scoring right away, as Joel Meinen led off the game with a solid single and scored on Dominic Marshall's RBI base hit. Cambridge would answer back with two in the bottom half to take the lead, and break it open in the third with five more runs to go up 8-2. Mitchell would claw back to 8-6 with a four-run fourth inning, as Jarrett Van Bakel hit a 2-run double scoring Jack Small and Josh French. Also scoring runs were Cody Bach, Caleb Templeman, Ryan Hubbard, and Marshall. French, Hubbard, and Keegan Priestap all saw action on the mound.
Next up for the team is a Victoria Day afternoon matinee at Cooper Field vs the Kitchener Panthers.
