Astros Clinch OBA 15U 'D' Provincial Championship
The Mitchell Astros 15U OBA team captured the OBA 'D' Provincial Championship on Labour Day weekend with a home-and-home sweep of Wyoming.  The victory capped off a shortened but strong season for the squad, finishing with a record of 12-5-2.

In Wyoming on Saturday, starter Keegan Priestap delivered another outstanding performance with a complete game 15-2 victory as the Astros high-octane went to work in support.
Down 1-0 after the first, the Astro bats exploded for a five-run second inning highlighted by Carson Harmer's bases-loaded triple and a two-run double by Hayden Nicholson.  Harmer scored three times, and Kellen Russwurm, Jordan Visneskie, Priestap, and Nicholson would all score twice.  Visneskie added a triple in the third inning and Jarrett Van Bakel a two-run double in the fourth.  Sparkling defensive plays were made as Wade Campbell had a long-running catch in left field in the final inning, and Visneskie an unassisted double-play at first base.
Returning to Mitchell on Sunday for the final game of the August Madness Championship pool play bracket, Caleb Templeman, Harmer, and Visneskie shared the mount duties in a 10-6 victory.  Dominic Marshall scored a pair of runs and extra-base hits were recorded by Visneskie and Nicholson.  Joel Meinen reached base safely in each at-bat.
The final Astros game of the season will be played on Wed Sept 8th at Cooper Field 7pm start time, a rescheduled game vs Clinton.
Congrats to the boys on a fantastic effort and 4th Provincial championship!
