Major Rookies Tier 2 Off To A Great Start!
After a year of uncertainty, the Major Rookie Tier 2's are off to an energetic and positive start. With a split squad of returning players, and incoming first year players, the huge smiles are genuine between teammates and parents alike, as everyone returns to a more normal-type summer, as baseball gets underway in the 2021 season!
The Major Rookie Tier 2's opened up their season with a pair of W's against Exeter at home on July 14, and again on the road for their first early morning road trip up Highway 8 to Goderich, on July 17th. The bats were cracking, as the team shook out the dust from their cleats in two solid outings at the plate, to start the season out with a positive energy and outlook that was long overdue from the past 16 months. However, in the team's third game of the season, the energy at the plate cooled a little, with a loss on the road to the St. Mary's Rockies Blue team, July 19th.
After playing three games in the opening week, the team is looking forward to a few days off, and will take a little breather to re-group, to come back to try the luck of their home field advantage, when St. Marys Blue comes to town, to take on the Astros, on July 16th.
