Tuesday, June 28, 2022, the boys took on the veteran Mitchell Seniors. The boys need to bring their A game for this bunch and are always ready for some good competition. Eric GETTLER dominated on the mound this night. He delivered 11 K’s and kept each inning quick and efficient. The rest of the team helped a bit defensively, Tanner DIETZ made an amazing diving catch in right field and the entire team were on the bats adding 13 runs to the scoreboard. They ended up with a 13-0 mercy after the top of the 7th.
Monday, July 4, 2022, the Stros were in Listowel. Wyatt HUITEMA made his debut on the mound and pitched 6 solid innings. The TAYLOR twins teamed up for the remainder of the game, Eric pitching and Lake catching and Listowel did not get on the scoreboard again after that. Mitchell drove home with a 9 to 5 win.
Tuesday, July 5, 2022, back on home turf, Mitchell hosted Woodstock. This was an exciting game for all our fans as the score was tight for the entire time. Bottom of the 7th, HUITEMA batted in the winning run, Ryan HARMER, for a walk-off 12 to 11 win. HARMER made a Kevin Pillar type catch in centerfield to finish off the 6th inning and once again the team had big bats on the offence.
