Mosquito League Week 2 Recap
The Mitchell mosquito league completed week 2 of action with a couple well played games

Team Black- 11- vs Team Blue- 6
Team Blue- 8 vs Team Red- 3

Team Black vs Team Blue recap

In this game both teams came out swinging. Four 1st year kids seen some action on the mound. Rookie Cole templeman started pitching for the black team. He allowed only 2 runs while striking out 3. Second years Hudson porter and Nate uniac closed out the victory for team black on the hill. Carson lubbers reached base every at bat, while scoring twice. Keith linton and porter also scored twice to lead team black. For team blue Bryson eickmeyer, cam dietz and Michael coyne all took to the mound, for the first time in there young career. The three combined for 6 strikeouts on the hill, in a very impressive debut. Ray wolfe, landon van bakel and eickmeyer did there best to rally the offense, all reaching base twice while wolfe scored twice in the losing cause. In the end team black out slugged team blue on way to a 5 run victory.

Team Blue vs Team Red recap

This game was a well played game for so early in the year. Very little errors were made, and only a handful of walks. The pitching led the way for team blue. Wes berendsen, Ray wolfe, landon van bake and Brayden baxter all threw effective innings leading there team to victory. Carter miller, connor eisler and ray wolfe all had runs batted in to lead the offense. For team red carson brown and jack Crowley each threw a scoreless inning and reached base twice. Jake Richardson also threw a scoreless inning and made some nice plays in the field. The red teams offense just couldn't keep up, and fell a few runs short in the end. All in all, the coaches have been very impressed with the effort level coming from these young players, and just 2 weeks into the season the kids seem to be getting into mid season form
