Peewee House League Season Wraps Up; Team Red Splits Double Header
The Mitchell Minor Baseball abbreviated Peewee House League season came to an end on Sept 9th after a 6-week / 8-game schedule for each of the three teams.  Team Red drew the double-header on the closing night, coming from behind to beat Team Green 9-7, and then falling 9-4 to Team Blue in the nightcap.

In the opening match, Team Green leadoff batter and starting pitcher Keegan Priestap was 3-for-3 with a double and 3 runs scored.  Jonah Gibbings reached base in all three at-bats scoring twice, while Wade Campbell chipped in with an RBI double.  For Team Red, Carson Harmer, Griffin Bree, Joel Meinen, and Max Hannon reached base in every at-bat, and Bree, Meinen, and Matthew Menheere each scored two runs.  Led by starter Meinen, Team Red pitchers combined for six strikeouts.
Jordan Visneskie opened the second game with a leadoff triple for Team Blue, and Hayden Nicholson swung the hot bat all game, going 3-for-3 for a pair of doubles, a run scored, and 4 RBI's.  In a well-balanced attack, each Team Blue player scored at least one run in the game.  Team Red bats were quiet for the first three innings, only managing one run scored on a Meinen RBI groundout.  A brief rally was staged in the last inning, as Ethan Jarmuth opened with a double, scoring on Charlie Geiger's RBI base hit.  Geiger and Carter O'Brien would also score before two strikeouts would squash the rally and end the game.
