Wolfe Flooring Mosquito OBA team Battle hard at home
This weekend the Wolfe Flooring Mosquito OBA squad took part in the tournament held here in Mitchell at Keterson Park. On Friday night they faced Waterdown to get the tournament started for the locals. The boys started out of the gate quickly scoring 12 runs in the first three innings cruising to a 20-1 win in five innings. Justin Morrison credited with the win, giving up three hits and striking out five in three innings of work. Dawson Dietz going 4 for 4 at the plate while Luke Murray and Charlie Wood collected 4 RBI's a piece.

Saturday morning the boys faced Goderich looking to start the tournament with a pair of wins.  The Astros started of slowly, but collected themselves as the fifth inning approached to find themselves up 9-3.  As the game came to a close the boys the locals handed Goderich a 19-6 loss to move Mitchell into a tie for top spot in their bracket with Kingsville. Coulter Rolph picking up the win striking out five, giving up two hits in three innings of work. Kaeden Vosper and Will Korver both scoring three times each in the victory. Saturday afternoon the boys took on Kingsville to determine top spot in their pool for the playoff round.  The game was back and forth for much of the game until the fourth inning when Kingsville scored eight runs and handed the locals their first loss with a 14-4 outcome in favour of Kingsville. PJ Marshall and Kaeden Meinen both going 2 for 2 at the plate and Kale Murray striking out four of the seven batters he faced. With the loss, Mitchell was scheduled to play Pelham in the semi-finals Sunday morning. The boys started well with some good defence by Kaeden Vosper to keep the game close and as they headed to the fourth found themselves down 2-1. The fourth inning turned out to be their nemesis again as they spotted Pelham eight runs to fall behind 10-1 and could not recover losing the semi-final 10-6, ending the tournament for the Wolfe Flooring Mosquitos. Justin Morrison started going 3 and 2/3 innings striking out three, as Kale Murray came in to finish striking out two.  Tanner Meinen going 2 for 3 at the plate and also scoring twice in the loss.
