The DL Hannon Inc 15U OBA Astros went undefeated to win the four team 15U invitational tournament held at Cooper Field in Mitchell on July 15 and 16.
Their opening game on Saturday morning resulted in a convincing 15-4 win over Exeter. Landon VanBakel pitched a complete game.
The second game on Saturday against St.Marys was a preview for the final match-up. After being down by six early in the game, the Astros continued to battle at the plate as they did all weekend. The locals came out on top in this one with a 13-10 victory. The highlight of the game was Charlie Wolfe's mammoth 3-run shot to left field.
The wave of offence continued to roll Sunday morning when the Astros played the Saugeen Shores Sting. The Astros would come out on top 18-7.
In the final on Sunday afternoon, Charlie Wolfe spun a gem representative of the excellent pitching depth that was on display all weekend by the team. The end result was a 12-5 victory over St.Marys.
