Priestap Hurls No-Hitter for 18U Astros
Starter Keegan Priestap spun five innings of no-hit ball, leading the Michelle Chessell Remax Realty 18U OBA Astros to a rain-shortened 8-0 victory over the host North London Nationals on June 4th.
The only blemishes on Priestap's record for the night were a runner reaching on an outfield error in the 4th, and a one-out walk issued in the bottom of the 5th. With strong fastball location all game, Priestap also recorded an "immaculate inning" in the 3rd, striking out the side on the minimum 9 pitches. He would also support himself at the plate, reaching base safely in both at-bats and scoring twice.
Leadoff batter Charlie Wolfe was 2-for-3 with a run scored, and base hits were also recorded by Ethan Blake and Ethan Jarmuth. Additional runs were scored by Logan Verberne, Hayden Nicholson, Landon Van Bakel, and Blake.
Next up for the Astros is a road trip to Port Elgin on Wednesday June 11th to face the Saugeen Shores Sting 18U OBA, with first pitch scheduled for 7pm.
