THE BOYS PICKED THEMSELVES UP AND PLAYED AN AWESOME GAME IN CLINTON By: Darryl Eidt
The Campbell Insurance bantam boys hardball team played two games this week.

Last Monday in Kincardine Mitchell faced a big, strong opponent. The Kincardine pitchers struck out seven of the first ten batters. In the fourth inning Mitchell rallied for two runs led by a Ryan HARMER double but it was too little too late as the team lost 12 - 2. Jake MONDEN and Tyson McINTOSH saw action on the mound.

Wednesday in Clinton, Mitchell was involved in a great pitching battle as the game was scoreless through three innings. Mitchell scored twice in the top of the fourth with hits from Reid RAMSEYER, Stephen BIRD and Jackson MacARTHUR.  Clinton rallied for four in their half of the inning but Mitchell battled back and got two more in the fifth. Brendan BOVILLE and Zach WARD both scored runs. Clinton got a 5-4 victory with a single run in the bottom of the seventh. Curtis EIDT was perfect through three innings and pitched six strong innings with Ward coming on in relief.
