The Mitchell lions club minor rookie blue team ended there regular season with 2 games this week. First travelled to play the first place st. marys team. The game was back and forth all game with the 2 squads playing to a 14-14 tie in the end. Isaak smith had the highlight of the game with a unassisted triple play. Landon van bakel and cam dietz led the offense with 3 runs each. the next night the team ended the season at home versus goderich. The bats were rolling, with every player having at least 2 hits off the pitching machine. In the end the locals pulled out a 18-17 win. Mitchell ended the season with a 7-6-1 record. Good for 5th place out of 9, which is good for such a young team. The squad concludes their season with a year end tournament in Mitchell

The Mitchell lions club junior rookies continue to climb up the standings in woba jr rookie division. This young team has won 4 of there last 5. At the start of the year this team looked overmatched against there opponents. But as the games have passed, the team continues to improve, and the whole team has been hitting the ball hard, and haven't allowed more than 3 runs an innings, in 4 games. There last 2 games were 21-5 , and 14-8, wins against grand bend and Exeter.

The minor rookie blue team won 2 games in a row, to bring there record for the season back to 3-3. Last week they beat the previously undefeated Exeter team by a score of 18-16. Isaak smith and landon van bakel stood out on defense. With nate uniac, connor wolfe, and logan Montgomery all scoring 3 runs. The locals then came home and won a game versus goderich 14-8. Ben Kelly and van bakel were crushing the ball all night. Bryson eckmeyer made a sharp play at third base. Van bakel ended the game with a double play.
