Stratford RV Minor Rookies
On Monday May 15th, the Stratford RV Minor Rookie team took on the Mitchell Lions Club Minor Rookies for their debut in the 2017 baseball season and we're ready to play as they went 7 for 8 batters on base in the 1st inning.

Cameron Dietz would start it off with a hard hit to meet the infielders glove a little too late as Dietz sprinted and landed 1st base. Following pace, hard hits would come from the rest of the order including a soaring ball to the field from batter Liam Baker, and a powerful drill from Miranda Scherbarth. The inning was shut down by too close outs at 3rd base and a hard hit by Phoebe Wood caught by the 1st baseman for the 3rd out of the inning.

The second inning would prove to be an even bigger sucess with seven runs brought in with Cole Templeman starting the order off with a great hit in field followed by an eventual fabulous base hit after three 3rd base foul drives for Alise Crawford and ending with the entire run of the line up hitting.  In the field the Stratford RV Minor Rookies would show outstanding fielding letting just two runs in with a great ground ball snag by Lucas Dejong directly tossed to 1st baseman Templeman for 1 out, followed immediatley by a fly ball catch by Caleb Pennings for the 2nd and the 3rd out coming from a throw from Dietz to Templeman again at 1st.

The hard working Rookies would then enter the 3rd with an edgy lead of 10-9.  The Mitchell Lions Club Rookies would be on the ball wanting to take the lead agressivley by only letting 3 cross the plate, Cole Templeman, Caleb Faulhaffer and Michael Coyne. Ending the 3rd, the visiting Stratford RV team would work in overdrive in an attempt to secure the score with a couple nice plays by Owen Jarmuth at 1st base but would ultimately end the inning by seeing six runs for the opponents cross the plate.

With just seven minutes left of game regulation time, the teams would begin a 4th inning to decide the winner with a tight score of 15-13 for the Mitchell Lions Club Rookies leading.   This final inning would prove to be eventful on both sides with seven runs for each team ending with a power hit by Ethan Faulhaffer finishing the Stratford RV Rookies bat with a nail-biting defeat of 22-20.

The Stratford RV Minor Rookies are looking forward to their next home game, Tuesday May 23rd with a 6:30 start time in Mitchell versus the Clinton Mustangs.
