Stratford RV Minor Rookies go 2 and 0 for the Tournament
Saturday August 5th, the Stratford RV Minor Rookies came into their year end tournament with confidence and a mission to play the best ball they knew how.

Starting out with the ducks in the rain, game one would be delayed 2 hours for a 12 p.m. start time. The wet fields would not stop the crew from making multiple great plays and great hits to the field in the quick game to shut down their Goderich Seahawk opponents. The team would continue to amaze their fans play after play in the first inning to obtain 3 outs and 0 runs to cross the plate. The amazing Duo of Liam Baker and Michael Coyne would make the job look easy with three simple tosses from pitcher to first base for the outs. Up to bat Caleb Pennings would start us off with a devil of a hit to the Outfield closely followed by Owen Jarmuth and Phoebe Wood with all batters landing on base to allow 5 runs for the Stratford RV Minor Rookies. The second inning would prove to be similar in success as the rookies would work hard again achieving three outs and allowing just three runs to cross the plate with stunning plays coming from infielders Jarmuth and Cam Dietz. Following to bat Miranda Scherbarth would start the order with a great hit past the second baseman to secure a spot on base, also with notable hits from Lucas Dejong and Alise Crawford would make the Goderich Seahawks roll in the field as the Mitchell drive was unstoppable. The team would not let up the entire game to end in a firm defeat over the Seahawks of 13 - 3 Later in the day, after a well rested crew had a picnic lunch in the forest just off Baier Court, the Stratford RV minor rookies would continue their intense motivation to prove to their fans the strong team they had become. Owen Jarmuth would start off the order with a huge hit to the field followed by notable hits from Cole Templeman and Caleb Faulhaffer to keep the St Marys rep team running in the field and score 7 runs. The St Marys team would answer back with strong hits as well showing no mercy with a desire to continue the competition. Lucas Dejong was able to capture One out at 3rd base, but this would not be enough to stop St Marys to score 7 runs across the plate. In the following 2nd inning, Mitchell would continue their efforts at bat with every batter hitting with a thriller of a hit from none other than Ethan Faulhaffer pounding the ball over the Pitchers head and out of reach for their fielders, the hit would bring in our seventh and final run of the inning. In the field Mitchell would continue their strong defensive role in achieving outs at third base with Michael Coyne and help from Dietz and Jarmuth letting just 1 St Marys run in the second. The third inning was full of events but never the less the St Marys rep team would fail to catch the Mitchell Stratford RV minor rookies to end in a strong win for Mitchell 21 to 11. What a superb end to a great season. The team would all end the day with medals, chips, juice and yet another group of smiling faces. GREAT WORK KIDS! YOU ARE ALL AWESOME!! And I had a blast coaching every one of you. Coach Amanda :)
