Stratford RV Minor Rookies keep on Rolling
The week of June 5th-10th the Stratford RV Minor Rookies continued their season with two away games that would add two more wins to their record that would show again their hard work as a team and success early in the season.

Starting the week off the team would face up against their hometown opponents, Mitchell Harris, for the second time this season with an objective to win as they fell just 5 runs shy of a win a few weeks earlier.  With the Stratford RV Minor Rookies up to bat first, their confidence was weekend early as Mitchell Harris team only allowed three runs to cross the plate in the first inning. Strong hits would still be added however from Caleb Pennings, Owen Jarmuth and Caleb Faulhaffer to name a few. The team would follow up in the field regardless just as strong as their opponents, only allowing a handful of runs scored also. Up to bat in the second inning the Stratford RV rookies would pound hard at the ball to be successful in bringing in 7 runs to take the lead in the game. Playing strong in the field all players work together to limit the runs scored by Mitchell Harris including an outstanding fly ball catch by pitcher Cole Templeman, and a nice out at 2ND base joint from Lucas Dejong and Miranda Scherbarth. Continuing on, the two teams for the love of the game, would decide to play a 4th inning as time would permit.  The visitors would continue to battle with firm hits from Ethan Faulhaffer, Alise Crawford and Phoebe Wood and superb fielding efforts from Cameron Dietz, Michael Coyne and Owen Jarmuth for an eventual win of 20-15.

Just three days later with a short ride South 23 to Exeter, the Stratford RV Minor Rookies would face off in the heat against the Exeter red team at Timbit field.  A squad keen for success, with some promises to a visit to Tim Hortons to follow, if hard efforts were put forth.  Again starting off up to bat the team would prove to be powerful and to catch eyes as Caleb Pennings opened with a big hit to centerfield to open up the scoring field. Maxing out in runs in the inning, the entire lineup would follow suit taking the lead run after run making it in next to Impossible for the Exeter Squad to stop them. Exeter would follow back and respond with six runs in the first to make a shy lead of 7-6 for the Stratford RV minor rookies. We would then continue in the second and the third just as successful in obtaining runs and solid hits from all, allowing just three outs in three innings. The visiting Mitchell squad would severely limit the runs scored by the opponents with Major League type plays from Jarmuth, Dietz and Dejong during the second and third innings allowing just four runs to cross the plate for a final score of 21 to 10 for the Stratford RV Minor Rookies.

The team is looking forward to visiting the Hall of Fame diamonds tomorrow evening versus The St Marys Rep for a 6:30 start.
