Winning Streak Snapped at 2
The Wolfe Flooring Mitchell Major Rookie OBA team was hoping to extend their winning streak to three gameswhen they hosted the Kincardine Cardinals on Tuesday, May 30th.

Each team scored seven runs in the first inning, including a 3 run home run from Charlie Wolfe, and two runs batted in from Jack Crowley.  Excellent defensive plays in the field during the second, including 3 outs made by Landon VanBakel held the score at a 7 run tie heading into the third.  Elijah Bender had a great 3rd inning making an excellent line drive catch and batting in one run.  Team work on the infield saw quick stops from Griffin Bree at shortstop, with clean throws to Ryan Klumper who safely retired the first three Kincardine batters of the inning at second base.  The top of the 5th inning saw Kincardine add 4 additional runs, and 2 more in the sixth, while Mitchell was only able to add to on in the fourth when Ethan Jarmuth batted one run in on a double. During the bottom of the fifth Logan Verberne batted another run in on a double to bring the score within one. Even with some great plays by Mitchell in the in-field including a high pop-fly catch by Max Hannon on third, Kincardine would add another 7 runs in the top of the seventh. Despite 2 more runs being added in the bottom of the inning for Mitchell, The Wolfe Flooring OBA’s fell 20-12 to the Kincardine Cardinals in a hard fought loss, ending their game winning streak at 2.
