Harris 15, Wood 22: Cold Weather Blues
In another Mitchell vs Mitchell rivalry game, Team Wood bested our hardworking Team Harris 22 to 15. Despite our team hitting well on a chilly evening, Team Wood used strategy, hitting in the gaps, and was able to hold the lead.
Kayla Visneskie is in a "league of her own" showing that girls are just as good at baseball as the boys, hitting two solid doubles. Keith Linton and Carter Harris also showed the machine who's boss, going 3-3 off the machine. Seth Brown is becoming quite the hitter as well, racking up the RBIs.
Defensively, the kids also played well. Lincoln Vandervelde showed great speed in the field, always playing with tons of heart and with that unbeatable smile. Elyn Hannon is starting to show her eagle eye in the field, along with patience at the plate that is sure to pay off.
Sean Gibbings and Carson Lubbers not only contributed offensively, they both contributed two big outs apiece. Lincoln Laverty, another great hitter, also showed stalwart defence at 3rd base.
It was a tough loss for our feisty Team Harris, but the team will no doubt rebound for the next game against Team Wood.
