Tough Loss on Western Road Trip
On Thursday May 28, the Mitchell 2 team hit the road for their first western road trip of the season. The Astros faced a tough opponent in the Goderich Seahawks black team. The hard hitting Seahawks plated 15 runs and used a solid defence to keep the visiting Astros to only 3.
Mitchell was able to limit the damage in the 2nd and 4th innings as Brandon Dietrich and Jordan Visneskie turned double plays. At the plate, lead off man Ben Medhurst went 3 for 3, while Dietrich continued to tear the cover off the ball ending with two hits, including an RBI double in the first inning. Visneskie also contributed two hits. Another positive note to the evening, the ice cream tasted great at Freeze King on the jouney home!
