Big Win at Home Snaps Streak
On Tuesday June 9, the Walther's IDA Major Rookie Tier 2 team welcomed North Middlesex Lieury to town. The game was a back and forth battle, that again seen the Astros start slow falling behind early. However, they would totally redeem themselves with strong 3rd and 4th innings. This would set up a dramatic finish as the game would go tied into the 6th and final inning. Mitchell would hold Lieury to no runs in the top of 6, and score 3 of their own in the bottom half, to pull off the 17-14 victory.
Leadoff hitter Ben Medhurst would lead the offensive attack going 4 for 4 and scoring 4 runs including the winner in the bottom of the 6th. Brandon Dietrich, Jordan Visneskie and Payton Wood kept swinging hot bats, with each of them registering 3 hits,including a double apiece. Breanna Kay also had a key hit in 3rd inning to keep the rally going and register an RBI. Every player in the line up registered at least one hit. On the defensive side, the tandem of Visneskie and Joel Meinen recorded several outs, with Visneskie making all three outs in top the 4th. Raylynn Bambrough played very well at the back catcher position. Great job team, up next the Astros hit the road headed to Exeter on Monday June 15th.
