Solid Effort at Home Leads to Big Win
The Walther's IDA Tier 2 Major Rookie team used a strong defence and big bats to earn a victory on home soil June 24th.  The team was able to hold the visiting St. Mary's squad to 6 runs, while their bats exploded in the 4th to score 7 of their 14 runs.  The cherry on top, was Brandon Dietrich's diving catch on a line drive to record the last out of the game.  It challenged Josh Donaldson's diving catch into the stands for the TSN Highlight of the Night.

Other than Dietrich's diving catch, Jordan Visneskie, Ben Medhurst and Darius Ladd played rock steady in the infield recording several outs during the game.  On the offensive side every player again recorded at least one hit.  Dietrich's power was on display as he pounded 3 doubles into the outfield.  Not to be out done, Medhurst responded with 2 doubles of his own and was on base all four times he was at bat.  Visneskie and Ladd also went 4 for 4, with Ladd plating 3 runs in the lead off spot.  Payton Wood went 3 for 3 at the plate and was a menace on the base paths.
Next action is Monday night in St. Mary's on the Hall of Fame diamond.  Good Luck.
