Walther's IDA Tier 2 Major Rookies have gone Streaking!
The Walther's IDA Tier 2 Major Rookie team made it three wins in a row last Thursday night, recording a huge win at home over a very strong Grand Bend Black Team. The team used an iron curtain infield and big bats to overcome a late inning defecit and win in dramatic fashion. They came from behind in the bottom of the 6th scoring 5 runs to win 14-12.
The tandom of Brandon Dietrich and Ben Medhurst recorded 5 of the first 6 outs of the game, and set the tone for the infield as that would be rock solid all night. Joel Meinen, Darius Ladd and Jordan Visneskie would also make some outstanding defensive plays which lead to outs. Breanna Kay and Nolan Vessie were busy in the outfield chasing down hard hit balls and getting them back into the infield.
Visneskie was also a force at the plate recording three hits, a single, double and massive triple to deep center field. Dietrich and Medhurst teamed up at the plate as well, each going 4 for 4, smashing two doubles each. They would also plate 6 of the team's runs. Raylynn Bambrough was not to be outdone by the boys, as she hit 4 singles, having her best game of the year. Tyler Scherbarth also had three hits and showed off his sweet base running skills. Solid team effort group!
