Walther's Tier 2 Battles Heat and Strong Listowel Team at Home
Monday night saw the Listowel Legionnaries come to Mitchell for a WOBA major rookie Tier 2 league game.  The home side battled the hot weather and a strong Listowel team.  Again, the Astros fell behind early but used a couple of late inning rallies to have another come from behind win.  The defence came up big in the 3rd and 5th innings not allowing the visitors to cross the plate.  The bats did the rest in the 2nd and 4th innings as the Astros plated 11 of their 16 runs.

Brandon Dietrich continued crushing the ball, as he went 4 for 4 and belted 3 doubles.  Jordan Visneskie continued his hot streak reaching base and scoring all three of his plate appearances.  He pounded out two doubles, one which caved in a bat that had his teammates in awe.  Raylynn Bambrough, Joel Meinen, Jade Huygen and Payton Wood all went 3 for 3.  Zach Huygen added two hits.  Darius Ladd and Ben Medhurst joined the hit parade each recording two hits, hitting one double a piece.
On the defensive side, a strong infield anchored by Visneskie, Dietrich, Medhurst and Meinen made several outs.  Listowel proved they could hit the ball into the outfield, and Breanna Kay sprinted hard all night chasing down balls.  Another awesome game by every player helped record the win, next game is Thursday, as the Astros head west to the beach and battle Grand Bend Red.
