THINGS LOOKED PROMISING IN THE FIRST. By: Darryl Eidt
The
Campbell Insurance WOBA bantam boys hardball team played against a strong Ilderton/Lucan team on Wednesday, August 5th.
Drew MacLean pitched out of a bases loaded, none out situation in the first. After a strikeout, Stephen Bird completed a third base to first base double play. That energized the team and they proceeded to put up four runs in the bottom of the first to take a nice lead. However the game went down hill from there and Mitchell lost 22 - 9.
Tyson McIntosh and Trevor Dixon also saw action on the mound.
Dixon completed a double play from first base with Ashton Cnockaert for another defensive highlight. On offense Zach Ward scored two runs and Johannes Renecker was also able to cross the plate for a run.
