BANTAMS CONTINUE TO DOMINATE by: Darryl Eidt
The
Campbell Insurance bantam boys OBA team continued their winning ways
and ran their record to 3-0 for the season with a 6-4 win over North
London Majors.
Mitchell started slow and made five errors in the field in the first inning leading to a three run deficit. But Mitchell started their come back in the second inning with hits from Trevor DIXON and Stephen BIRD leading to five runs. James COPELAND drove in Drew MacLEAN in the bottom of the sixth for an insurance run. Of note, no Mitchell batters struck out during the contest. Curtis EIDT picked up the win on the mound as he baffled the London batters and only gave up one more run after the first inning as he pitched 5 1/3 innings. Jake MONDEN got the first runner he faced to hit into a double play on a good defensive effort by Jackson MacARTHUR. MONDEN then struck out the final batter with the bases loaded to earn the save.
