Rookies Start Busy Week Off With Win
The Mitchell Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookie Astros started off a busy 4-game week on May 30th with a 20-1 victory over host Clinton Mustangs Red. The locals loaded the bases quickly in the top of the first, highlighted by Dominic Marshall's two-run double. Marshall had a monster night at the plate, going 4 for 4 with 7 RBI's, and Jack Miller and Kellen Russwurm each contributed 3 RBI's.
Reaching base safely each at bat were Carson Harmer, Miller, and Russwurm. Extra base hits were also recorded by Miller, Ryan Hubbard, and Joel Meinen.
Hubbard recorded two flyball outs in left field, including one to end the game with two runners on board. Harmer also chipped in with solid defense at first base, catching two pop-ups.
The locals have a busy week, traveling to Kincardine on May 31st, followed by hosting Clinton Black on June 1st and Goderich on June 5th for Mitchell Minor Baseball Day.
