Rookies Down Clinton Mustangs Red At Home
The Mitchell Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies returned home on June 27th, defeating visiting Clinton Mustangs Red by a score of 25-6. The offense started off slow on a hot night, taking a 2-2 tie into the bottom of the third. The bats then came to life, starting with base hits by Carson Harmer and Zach Houben, followed by run-scoring singles by the hot bats of Ryan Hubbard and Darius Ladd.
Dominic Marshall then continued his recent power surge, clearing the bases with a 3-run home run to deep right centre. Things didn't stop there, as Ben Medhurst and Joel Meinen would reach base safely to set the stage for Jack Miller's 2-run home run to left as the locals put the 7-run max on the board, keeping the lead for the remainder of the game. Harmer and Meinen also homered and paced the attack with 4 runs each scored, and Miller would add his second round tripper in the fifth. Extra base hits were also recorded by Medhurst, Hubbard, and Kellen Russwurm.
