Rookies Notch Road Win In Clinton
The Mitchell Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies traveled to Clinton on July 14th, returning home with a 33-1 lopsided victory. The visitors jumped on the bats early, building a 5-0 lead in the first inning on RBI base hits by Hayden Nicholson, Ben Medhurst, Kellen Russwurm, and Jordan Visneskie.
The speedy Carson Harmer was 5-for-5 with five runs scored, four doubles, and four RBI's. Scoring four runs each were Darius Ladd, Zach Houben, and Dominic Marshall, while Medhurst drove in a total of six runs. Also reaching base safely each time were Ryan Hubbard, Ladd, Nicholson, and Houben.
Shortstop Russwurm set the tone for the defense early in the game with a diving catch of a sinking liner from Clinton's second batter, and the locals never looked back only allowing one run all game.
