Rookies Finish Off Road Trip With Win
The Mitchell Stickhandler Tier 1 Major Rookies completed a 5-game road trip on July 26th with a 25-11 victory in Exeter. The visitors jumped on the bats quickly in the top of first, plating the maximum 7 runs and never looked back.
Leadoff batter Carson Harmer hammered a triple in the left centre gap to open the game, and Dominic Marshall, Jack Miller, Jordan Visneskie, Kellen Russwurm, Ben Medhurst, and Ryan Hubbard all followed with consecutive base hits to pace the attack.
Ben Medhurst was 5-for-5 with two doubles, four runs scored, and an RBI (and guess who was absent again!). Going 4-for-5 were Harmer, Marshall, Miller, and Hubbard, with Marshall scoring four runs and Miller and Hubbard each driving in four respectively. Extra base hits were also recorded by Miller and Zach Houben, and Darius Ladd and Hayden Nicholson each added three RBI's.
Harmer sparkled defensively all night at shortstop, making several spectacular plays to erase runners. Hubbard was solid at first base, and Russwurm and Ladd both caught fly balls for outs.
