Mosquitoes Go 1-1 Vs Local Rivals
The Mitchell Feeney Design Build Mosquito Astros faced off with a couple of local league rivals this week, coming away with one victory and one close loss.

On May 28th, the squad squared off with the Mitchell Monkton Lions Club Mosquito Astros, jumping out to a 2-0 lead on consecutive base hits by Kellen Russwurm, Josh French, and Jordan Visneskie. The home team struck back in the bottom half to take a 4-2 lead.  Starter Russwurm settled in after a tough opening inning, finishing with five strikeouts in his career debut.  Relievers Brennan Ward and Jordan Visneskie kept the game close, but eventually dropped a 13-12 decision in the bottom of the last inning on a dropped third strike that eventually came in to score on overthrows.  Russwurm and French reached base and scored all three times, and a pair of runs were also recorded by Ward.  Also reaching base safely in each at-bat were Lincoln Lorentz, Blake Redfern, and Callum Harris.
Next up on May 31st was a road trip to Cromarty to face the Mitchell Sherman Plumbing Mosquito Astros, and the visitors struck early and often, recording the max 6 runs in the top of the first inning.  Ward, Russwurm, and French all reached base and were driven home by a Visneskie double, who would later score.  Redfern and Lorentz added the other two runs.  The max 6 runs were again recorded in the 5th inning on way to a 17-10 victory.
Starter Nolan Vessie allowed only the leadoff batter to score in the first, but got hit harder in the second inning eventually giving way to Redfern who would strike out the side in both the third and fourth.  Harris debuted on the mound in the fifth, and French came in to close out the victory in the bottom of the sixth.  Russwurm, French, Visneskie, and Lorentz all reached base safely in each at-bat, and French and Visneskie each scored three runs.
