Mosquitos Close Out Regular Season With Loss
The Feeney Design Build Mosquito Astros wrapped up their regular season on August 9th, hosting the Southwest London Scorpions Select.  The visitors came out swinging hard, touching starter Blake Redfern for five runs in the top of the first on route to an 15-8 victory over the locals.

The Astros would answer back in the bottom half, as Kellen Russwurm led off with a triple and scored on Jordan Visneskie's base hit, who was then driven in by Redfern's RBI groundout.  SW London would go back right back to work, adding three more runs each in the second and third innings to take a commanding 11-3 lead after three innings of play.  Mitchell began to claw back in the bottom of the fourth as SW London got into a pitching jam, loading the bases on consecutive one-out walks to Josh French, Nolan Vessie, and Payton Kainz.  The first run trotted home on an HBP to Russwurm, and Visneskie proceeded to clear the bases with a grand slam home run to bring the locals to within three runs.  However, SW London would add four more runs in the fifth and Mitchell would leave the bases loaded to end the game and fall short.  Visneskie would finish 3-for-3 with three runs scored and 5 RBI's.
Vessie would come on in relief of Redfern, and French finished up on the mound.
Good luck to the squad in this weekend's WOBA playoff tournament!
