The Mitchell Stickhandler Mosquito OBA Astros capped off their championship season in style last night with a celebration tractor & wagon parade around town.  The team would like to thank the following for all their support:

The Mitchell Stickhandler Mosquito Astros successfully defended their OBA 'D' title on Labour Day Weekend in Chatham, downing the Lucan-Ilderton Athletics by a score of 7-0 in the final. Starter Josh French was lifted after 29 pitches and some dandy mixing of speeds with a wicked changeup, reaching his max pitch count for the day after pitching earlier in the semi-final.  Reliever Ryan Hubbard had a full tank of gas, and he wasted no time mowing down the opposing bats with six strikeouts in the last four innings.

The Mitchell Stickhandler Mosquito OBA Astros travelled to Walkerton on August 28th to complete the second half of a home-and-home exhibition series (unfortunately Mitchell's home game on August 22nd was rained out), returning home with a narrow 6-5 victory.

The Stickhandler Mosquito OBA Astros travelled to London on August 11th for an exhibition matchup with the LDBA first-place London Tecumseh Major Mosquitos. Facing an opponent with strong pitching and defense, the locals held their own in a 7-3 loss that could have been even closer without a couple of costly errors.

The Stickhandler Mosquito OBA Astros hosted Listowel on August 6th, narrowly escaping with an 8-7 win. Starter Jordan Visneskie scattered five hits through 6 1/3 innings for the win, relieved by Keegan Priestap and Ryan Hubbard, who together tallied six strikeouts in the game.
