Mosquito OBA Down Undefeated Saugeen Shores
The Stickhandler Astros dropped previously undefeated Saugeen Shores by a score of 7-4 in June 11th Mosquito OBA action in Mitchell.
The visitors struck first in the opening inning with an RBI base hit, but did not score again until the sixth inning as starter Jordan Visneskie threw a gem and scattered four hits over 5 1/3 innings with five strikeouts.  Reliever Dominic Marshall got into some trouble in the top of the seventh but pitched out of the jam with a popup to shortstop to end the game.

The Astro bats were quiet for three innings, finally coming to life in the third as Carson Harmer, Jarrett Van Bakel, and Visneskie all crossed the plate.  Jack Small would add a run in the fifth on an infield error, and the locals would put three more runs across in the sixth on a two-run triple by Visneskie who then was also driven in on a triple by Josh French.  Ryan Hubbard reached base safely in each at bat.
Defensive highlights were an unassisted double play by second baseman Caleb Templeman, and Harmer cutting down a runner at second from centre field trying to stretch a single.
Next up for the Astros is the Woodstock Mosquito OBA Tournament on June 16-18th.
