The D.L. Hannon Minor Mosquitoes lose a heartbreaker on the road
On Sunday June 10th, the D.L. Hannon Minor
Mosquitoes took to the road to take on Mount Forest. Both teams battled hard inning for
inning. With Mount Forest pulling away
leaving Mitchell down 6 runs heading in to the top of the 7th
inning.
Then, with their first two batters out, Mitchell went to work and rallied. Ethan Jarmuth hit a double that picked up 3 RBIs bringing in Charlie Wolfe, Ryan Klumper and Olen Hopf. With that spark the bats heated up with Ethan Jarmuth, Max Hannon, Logan Verberne, Zack Siemon-Hergot and Braden Hoegy all scoring. Ryan Klumper would step up to the plate and single bringing in Landon VanBakel and Elijah Bender. These 10 runs in the top of the 7th would put Mitchell in the lead heading into the bottom of the 7th. But despite their effort the boys couldn’t hold on and Mount Forest would add 4 runs and edge Mitchell out with a 17-16 final for the home team. Great effort by the D.L.Hannon Minor Mosquitoes, such an exciting game to watch!
